About Jen...

I have been thinking about this page and I still am not sure what to say so I'll start with my camera.
I shoot with a 15 year old (give or take a few) Minolta. I've got a couple of lenses and a handful of filters.
I like the concept of buying used equiptment and do when I can. I have a great store by the name of Pardee's in my area. (This is the part where I plug them.) Everytime I go in they are helpful and a wealth of knowledge even for my dumb questions. I purchased my body and both lenses used from them and they work like they were still new. I like knowing I didn't spend a lot on my equiptment because now if it is stolen (which is always likely) or I damage it severly (not as likely) I can replace it and still not have spent as much as I would have on new.
I usually use my standard lense that is a straight 50mm. I love it. But, I also have a 70mm to 200mm w/built in macro. I don't really like this lense a great deal. It has a brain all it's own. Some pictures turn out good some don't. As far as filters go.. I use them on occasion and like them for the most part.
Photography to me is a hobby. Sure I dream of grandure. I would love to be on the cover of National Geographic. But, I doubt that will happen. I would love to take just one picture in my lifetime that would move the masses, but most of the time I'm satisfied if my friends like it.
It's true what they say about a picture. It can tell 1000 stories. Think about some of the images that have been caught on film. From wars, disasters, to the birth of a child.
My friend said I look at the world through the lense of my camera. Always seeing what could be a great picture. Does that mean photography is more than a hobby to me?
